"The string section of the orchestra in this recording consisted of 4 first violins, 3 second violins, 3 violas, 2 violoncellos and 1 contrabass. Both works were recorded in March 1951 in the 30th Street Studios of Columbia Records in New York City" It is likely that this Nixa issue used the same master as the Discogs entry for the Haydn Society release (r9120489) , which could be verified if we knew the Haydn Society matrix numbers.
